Billing Specialist
Location: Greater Indianapolis Area (Onsite)
Nmble Medical is proud to partner with a rapidly growing multisite surgical practice in the Greater Indianapolis area, supporting their mission to provide exceptional surgical care while ensuring seamless financial and billing operations.
We are seeking a Billing Specialist to join their Revenue Cycle Management team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate, efficient, and compliant billing processes that support both patient care and organizational growth. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, familiarity with medical billing and coding, and a passion for supporting a mission-driven healthcare company.
Responsibilities
Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies and payers (electronic and paper).
Review patient accounts for accuracy and completeness prior to submission.
Monitor claims for timely reimbursement and follow up on denials or underpayments.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations, payer requirements, and coding changes.
Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies to resolve billing inquiries.
Assist in month-end reporting and revenue cycle improvement initiatives.
Support compliance with HIPAA and all relevant healthcare regulations.
Qualifications
Required:
2+ years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle operations.
Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems.
Proficiency with billing software and EHR systems.
Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CPB).
Experience with multiple payers (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance).
Prior experience in a specialty practice or multi-provider setting.
