Cardiac Sonographer

Location: Richmond, VA Area | Full-time | Onsite

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Cardiac Sonographer (Echo Technologist) to join a growing healthcare organization dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. This position will primarily focus on performing high-quality echocardiograms while working alongside a collaborative team of physicians and clinical professionals.

What You'll Do

  • Perform high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms using 2D, spectral Doppler, and color flow Doppler imaging.

  • Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort throughout the exam.

  • Acquire accurate diagnostic images and generate preliminary findings for physician review.

  • Maintain complete and accurate patient documentation within the electronic medical record.

  • Communicate urgent or critical findings according to established protocols.

  • Assist with ultrasound-guided procedures when needed.

  • Perform additional ultrasound studies, including vascular or general ultrasound, if qualified.

  • Ensure ultrasound equipment is properly maintained and functioning according to manufacturer guidelines.

  • Follow all safety, infection prevention, and quality assurance standards.

  • Travel between local clinic locations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program.

  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification required.

  • Minimum of 6 months of hands-on clinical experience after internship or externship.

  • Two or more years of experience preferred.

  • Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

  • Strong patient care, communication, and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced outpatient environment.

  • Additional experience in vascular or general ultrasound is highly preferred.
