Compliance Specialist
Location: Grand Rapids, MI | Onsite | Full-time
Nmble Medical is partnering with a leading healthcare organization in Grand Rapids to identify a Compliance Specialist who will play a key role in supporting and strengthening regulatory and operational compliance efforts. This position sits within a dynamic care environment and works closely with both internal stakeholders to ensure high standards of compliance and patient data protection.
In this role, you will be responsible for helping maintain and evolve compliance programs that align with healthcare regulations and organizational policies. You’ll serve as a critical resource in identifying risk, supporting audits, and ensuring that compliance is embedded into day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
Support compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations (including HIPAA and related standards)
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures
Conduct internal audits, chart reviews, and risk assessments
Investigate potential compliance concerns and support resolution efforts
Partner with clinical, operational, and administrative teams to promote compliance best practices
Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of compliance activities
Contribute to staff training and education on regulatory requirements
Monitor regulatory updates and assist in adapting processes accordingly
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Compliance, or related field
2–5 years of experience in healthcare compliance or a related role
Working knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare regulatory requirements
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or similar
Experience in clinical or healthcare operations settings
Familiarity with healthcare technology platforms or data systems
