Registration Specialist

Location: Greater Indianapolis, IN | Full-time | Onsite

Nmble Medical Hiring Solutions is partnering with a respected healthcare organization seeking a professional, patient-focused Registration Specialist to join their collaborative clinical team. This role plays a critical part in supporting the patient experience by facilitating patient flow from arrival through registration, scheduling, and coordination of care in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-service driven, and able to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and compassion in every patient interaction.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate patient flow from point of entry to destination efficiently and professionally

  • Obtain, verify, and document accurate demographic, insurance, and financial information to support reimbursement and positive clinical outcomes

  • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate registration activities

  • Interview patients to obtain required medical and insurance information

  • Explain departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and patient expectations

  • Validate charges, collect payments, and ensure accurate documentation within healthcare systems

  • Respond to incoming calls and appropriately direct patients, visitors, and internal staff

  • Maintain accurate patient records within EMR/EHR systems

  • Collaborate closely with providers, nursing staff, medical assistants, and Revenue Cycle Services (RCS) teams

  • Support operational workflows while delivering exceptional customer service and patient-centered communication

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, organizational standards, and healthcare regulations

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a healthcare, medical office, or clinical setting

  • Ability to learn and retain medical terminology

  • Familiarity with insurance verification and interpretation

  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding preferred

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • CMAA certification preferred, but not required
